In these difficult times, where burglary is on the increase, it is always heartbreaking to see families suffer financial loss and emotional stress. As a victim of crime your call to me will be priority and treated as an emergency! 

We all need to make a stand against this rapidly increasing problem! I like to give as much information to help educate people on the importance of security and I feel that hiding such details and then charging a payment for my knowledge can be just as bad as the person committing the robbery, when in fact most of the knowledge can be common sense. 

In the same way as all Brisant locks, you can manipulate, build, switch, and duplicate Ultion locks on site. You don’t have to make return visit when you have fetched or even ordered the right lock. Ultion is as friendly to the locksmith as it nasty to the intruder.

Locks such as front door ‘Yale’ type locks do not have key numbers due to being mass-produced. Also many cheap locks and imported furniture do not have key numbers, as they are imported and distributed at minimum costs not allowing for after market key service.

One thing we need to hope for with Ultion is that the prices are not screwed down online like they are with some locks. Brisant has always used “locks for locksmiths” as there slogan. That’s locks for locksmiths to make money on though as well as them being locksmith friendly. Some of the top quality anti snaps are so hard to sell to customers now due to them being sold so cheaply online and sometimes cheaper than we can buy them from trade suppliers! This means we can’t make a mark up on the locks at all and when you give a customer a price including labour they run a mile claiming they can get the lock themselves at half the price! Lets hope this doesn’t happen to Ultion!

To create a key using the key number that operates all of Ultion's 11 pins the key number is decoded using an encrypted security algorithm. Licensed Ultion Key Centres have access to this decoding algorithm. Once decoded the precise indentations can be cut using specialist machines with dedicated tooling to exactly the right depth, in exactly the right position, on both sides of your key.

If you don’t have a key number, but you still have an existing key we may still be able to help. You should take a clear and clean photo of your key and email us for us to confirm if we can decode and make you a copy without the original.

Most locks now have between 5-7 pins, but Ultion has an impressive 11 pins. Giving the lock impressively just under 300’000 different key combinations. So security is paramount. These locks are Anti-bump, Anti-Snap, Anti-drill, and Anti-pick. When the lock is attacked it goes into lockdown mode.

Personally I will now only offer Brisant anti snap locks, I buy all my cylinders from them now as its like a one stop cylinder shop. I buy the cheap bog standard cylinders from them, Brisant E as a mid range anti snap for customers who want a good anti snap lock but don’t want to pay a lot of money and I have been using Yale AS platinum 3 star from Brisant as well but now I will 100% be swapping over to Ultion as my top of the range option for customers. Meaning a burglar will not only have to drill through the first two in the sacrificial section of the cylinder, but then, if they want to snap the lock, they'll have to try and drill through 8 more anti-drill pins.

Also, there are no magnets on the key. This means that damaging metal scrapings from coins and other keys are not carried into the lock when stuck magnetically on the key. Finally, because Ultion has 11 pins (creating 294,000 key combinations) there is no need to create extra deep key dimples for debris to hide and sneak into the lock.

Now the standard lock for most of the UK’s leading door manufacturers, the ultion cylinder is approved by the Master Locksmith Association and is certified as 3 star Sold Secure Diamond Tested - the highest accolade available for a euro cylinder.

Cylinders come in 5mm increments, do not reduce the size of your cylinder if your lock sticks out of the existing handle by less than 5mm. PVC french doors sometimes have special central sections making it very difficult to remove and refit a cylinder lock. Please call for advice.

We know how important it is that you always have a lock to suit every eventuality, but equally important is the overwhelming amount of cash tied up in van stock. That’s why Ultion has a clever dual-colour design – cutting the amount of stock you need in half. And then, by putting the unbeaten security features in both sides of the lock you halve your stock again not having to buy and carry ‘handed’ anti-snap locks.

Anti drill pins have featured in existing high end locks for a while. Ultion however has 6, in both sides of the body (because it is non-handed!). So the burglar meets the first two in the sacrificial section of the cylinder. But if he decides to snap the lock first then go for the drill he’ll find his drill bit fighting against 4 more anti-drill pins. In the plug itself is a further 8 (each side of course) and two anti drill plates (yes... each side!)

Should a burglary take place within 10 years from the point of installation and entry was acheived by snapping an Ultion lock, we will pay you £1000. To activate your guarantee just complete this registration form within 28 days of installation.

The standard locks fitted to millions of UPVC doors across the country can be broken in seconds; Known as an euro profile lock, if you have these ‘snappable’ locks in your doors, it means that you may be increasing your risk of break in and burglary.

If you have lost your keys for any type of furniture ordering couldn't be easier. For most locks the code number of your key is stamped on the face of the lock so you can simply make a note of the code and order the keys here.

The Ultion lock has been tested to the needs of the British Standard TS007 3 star standard, without having to be bolstered with an expensive high security handle. When Ultion is locked it is the actual center cam that gets independantly secured, not secured to the internal plug – this means that even when the key is left on the inside of the lock, Ultion is still secure.

Whenever your Ultion key goes missing the app records it’s last known location on a map. When another TrackR app user comes within range of your key, you will receive an email update with the location of your key.

To provide a counter measure to, amongst others, the increasing threat of snapping locks, the cylinder itself features several layers of protection. In particular, the cylinder features a sacrificial break slot, which ensures that in the event of the cylinder being snapped, the secure core of the lock is retained within the door preventing forced override of the cylinder.

The ULTImate standard that other 3-star anti-snap locks want but don’t get. This is the rigours of the TS007 3-star but with added aggression, and tested by an MLA locksmith. The tester is allowed more access around the lock, more tools, freedom to break the material surrounding the lock and the ability to pause the clock to consider a different tack – Ultion will also be tested to this standard.

Normal, handed anti-snap locks feature a single sacrificial section and focus on strength to make snapping harder. Except the strength is never enough to withstand the force leveraged from a burglar's mole grips. On each end of an Ultion cylinder there are two sacrificial elements, each designed to snap with relative ease, but more importantly in exactly the right place. When snapped the central cam is directly and independently locked – not to an attackable internal plug.

The creators of the Ultion are so sure it can withstand attack, they offer a 10 year £1000 guarantee with every cylinder. That means if an intruder somehow manages to gain entry to your home by snapping the lock, you’ll be given £1000.

To remove or insert a euro-cylinder the key must be turned slightly to line the tongue of the central cam up with the body of the lock, this will enable the cylinder lock to slide in or out. Getting the amount of key turn may require a bit of trial and error, but usually it requires a 15 to 20 degree turn either to the left or right, this is shown clearly on the video. If there is any resistance to removing the cylinder it can help to just loosen the handle screws - sometimes a slightly offset handle can put pressure on the cylinder making it a little stiffer.

I have been fortunate enough to see the Brisant Ultion quite a lot at different stages of the design process and have tested quite a lot with Steve, snapping, bumping and picking so I know quite a lot about the lock. Although I know Steve this is a completely impartial review based on what I’ve and learned as I’ve seen the lock being developed. When I first ever met Steve he told me about his plans to make “locks for locksmiths” and make Brisants full range of locks locksmith friendly. The aim was to make good quality locks that were easier for local locksmiths to stock and pin up themselves. They seem to have definitely achieved this but the only thing missing was a top of the range cylinder 3 star cylinder, until now!

Except the strength is never enough to withstand the force leveraged from a burglar's mole grips. On each end of an Ultion cylinder there are two sacrificial elements, each designed to snap with relative ease, but more importantly in exactly the right place. When snapped the central cam is directly and independently locked – not to an attackable internal plug.

Its very easy to mismeasure a cylinder lock whilst its in the door. We strongly recommend taking it out to get an accurate measurement. Be careful if you use a tape measure and not a ruler as the end of some tapes can make it tricky to get the right size.

Also, there are no magnets on the key. This means that damaging metal scrapings from coins and other keys are not carried into the lock when stuck magnetically on the key. Finally, because Ultion has 11 pins (creating 294,000 key combinations) there is no need to create extra deep key dimples for debris to hide and sneak into the lock.

The Ultion lock has been tested to the needs of the British Standard TS007 3 star standard, without having to be bolstered with an expensive high security handle. When Ultion is locked it is the actual center cam that gets independantly secured, not secured to the internal plug – this means that even when the key is left on the inside of the lock, Ultion is still secure.

Underneath the key sit 6 pins. Each of these pins have specific jobs, there are 2 steel anti drill pins, 3 brass mushroom anti-pick pins, and one anti-bump. But then, above the key Ultion is housing a further 5 pins – creating an astonishing 294,000 key combinations.

Anti drill pins have featured in existing high end locks for a while. Ultion however has 6, in both sides of the body (because it is non-handed!). So the burglar meets the first two in the sacrificial section of the cylinder. But if he decides to snap the lock first then go for the drill he’ll find his drill bit fighting against 4 more anti-drill pins. In the plug itself is a further 8 (each side of course) and two anti drill plates (yes... each side!)

To provide a counter measure to, amongst others, the increasing threat of snapping locks, the cylinder itself features several layers of protection. In particular, the cylinder features a sacrificial break slot, which ensures that in the event of the cylinder being snapped, the secure core of the lock is retained within the door preventing forced override of the cylinder.

Cylinders come in 5mm increments, do not reduce the size of your cylinder if your lock sticks out of the existing handle by less than 5mm. PVC french doors sometimes have special central sections making it very difficult to remove and refit a cylinder lock. Please call for advice.

We know how important it is that you always have a lock to suit every eventuality, but equally important is the overwhelming amount of cash tied up in van stock. That’s why Ultion has a clever dual-colour design – cutting the amount of stock you need in half.
