We can cut your key to code, or you can contact us or drop into our shop to obtain your perfect Ultion key cutting experience. We can even supply you with coloured key caps designed purposely for your Ultion key. These make your keys look more modern and stylish as well as an extra safety measure in that it hides your key code. Not only that we are able to supply a KEYRING. Effectively this is a tracker for your key. So should you loose it around the home or office you can ring your keys from an app. Or if you lost them outside of the home you can track the key via bluetooth on your phone. Added bonus is that you can also find your phone using the key.
The Brisant Ultion manages to be non-handed because the firing pin which locks into the cam fires from underneath when the cylinder is snapped at the second pre-determined weak spot which is just in front of the cam, locking the cam in place. Because the pin fires from underneath this means one can be built into each side of the cylinder meaning that no matter which way around you fit the lock there is always a firing pin ready to lock the cam on the external side of the cylinder. When you actually see it in action it’s a really clever idea and seems like one of those, why did nobody else think of that ideas? One big plus point is that when a key is left on the inside of an Ultion the cam locking mechanism still activates, when I have tested this on an ABS with a key on the inside it stops the mechanism firing meaning the cam can be turned when its not supposed to.
Also, there are no magnets on the key. This means that damaging metal scrapings from coins and other keys are not carried into the lock when stuck magnetically on the key. Finally, because Ultion has 11 pins (creating 294,000 key combinations) there is no need to create extra deep key dimples for debris to hide and sneak into the lock.
In the same way as all Brisant locks, you can manipulate, build, switch, and duplicate Ultion locks on site. You don’t have to make return visit when you have fetched or even ordered the right lock. Ultion is as friendly to the locksmith as it nasty to the intruder.

Ultion is an 11 pin cylinder, and the key doesn’t use magnets. Machines that cut Ultion keys are Silca Triax E-Code, Quatrrocode, Futura and Keyline Vortex. Key blanks and all Brisant products are available on a next day service. We can help any locksmith using Brisant locks that wants to be an Ultion Key Centre but needs a dimple key cutting machine with a subsidised rate on an RST Mustang.
Locks such as front door ‘Yale’ type locks do not have key numbers due to being mass-produced. Also many cheap locks and imported furniture do not have key numbers, as they are imported and distributed at minimum costs not allowing for after market key service.
The Ultion is a dimple lock but doesn’t come with a key registration card. The key number is stamped onto the key head instead. Like all of the Brisant range of locks the Ultion is a non handed dual colour lock meaning its very easy to stock. According to Steve it means carrying 75% less stock than the Avocet ABS. Any attempt at forced entry will immediately see the Ultion go into ‘Lockdown Mode’ where a protected attack lock activates directly into the central cam, something you won’t get with any instant access lock.

Only a small handful of window locks use code series keys. If your lock does have a key number it will only be stamped on the key. If there is no number please send us a photo of an existing key or a up close image of the handle, so we can identify what key you require.

Anti drill pins have featured in existing high end locks for a while. Ultion however has 6, in both sides of the body (because it is non-handed!). So the burglar meets the first two in the sacrificial section of the cylinder. But if he decides to snap the lock first then go for the drill he’ll find his drill bit fighting against 4 more anti-drill pins. In the plug itself is a further 8 (each side of course) and two anti drill plates (yes... each side!)

I have been fortunate enough to see the Brisant Ultion quite a lot at different stages of the design process and have tested quite a lot with Steve, snapping, bumping and picking so I know quite a lot about the lock. Although I know Steve this is a completely impartial review based on what I’ve and learned as I’ve seen the lock being developed. When I first ever met Steve he told me about his plans to make “locks for locksmiths” and make Brisants full range of locks locksmith friendly. They seem to have definitely achieved this but the only thing missing was a top of the range cylinder 3 star cylinder, until now!
When it detects attack, a hidden lock within the Ultion automatically engages, so that even when snapped twice nothing gets past it. Leaving a key on the inside of the lock won’t affect its performance either.

To create a key using the key number that operates all of Ultion's 11 pins the key number is decoded using an encrypted security algorithm. Licensed Ultion Key Centres have access to this decoding algorithm. Once decoded the precise indentations can be cut using specialist machines with dedicated tooling to exactly the right depth, in exactly the right position, on both sides of your key.

From the snapping tests I have done on this lock it performs just as good as Avocet ABS. Both have a sacrificial cut about 10mm back from the front of the lock, both have a second pre determined sacrificial section right in front of the cam. Both lock the cam once the cylinder is broken on the second sacrificial part blocking access to the gearbox. So from a snapping point of view they both offer exactly the same levels of security.
